NPC Water Tower in Jeffersonville, IN gets a face lift

The NPC Water Tower (located within the Census Bureau, Jeffersonville, IN) is getting a face lift!

I live very near this water tower and have been watching as they've disassembled & reconstructed the entire thing.

It's been a pretty neat thing to watch.  Each day when work commences, they raise this HUGE "apron" that covers the entire structure.  I can only assume it's to keep debris contained and give workers a semi-controlled environment.  I also assume that the inner workings of a water tower shouldn't be public knowledge. Afterall, water needs to be kept safe and free from biological contaminates.  I'd prefer that stay under an "apron." LOL!  Regardless of the function, it's really cool.  I've never seen anything like it.

If you're in the area, take a second to drive by.  They are currently painting the new (larger, I believe) water tower.

This is the only pic I could find of the old water tower.
This is the "apron" pulled up over the construction site.  Looking Southwest.
Taken from the parking lot in front of the treatment center.  Looking Southeast. This gives you an idea of just how HUGE this "apron" thing is.

Hmmm....I wonder if they'll paint the NPC logo on the new tower.  I'm thinking "Stacie Thompson/Compass Realtors" would look REAL NICE painted on the side :)
