The Floyd County communities of Greenville and Floyds Knobs are being
 asked to stop watering lawns, washing cars, filling swimming pools and 
any other non-essential uses of water until further notice.
Both
 the Floyds Knobs Water Company and the Greenville Water Utility issued 
the requests Thursday for voluntary conservation in light of continuing 
dry and hot conditions.
The identical statements say “If the water demand does not decrease we will be forced to initiate a mandatory conservation.”
